Everything we serve in the house happens in two places: KIBBEL’S KITCHEN, our breakfast café, and the open kitchen in the lobby on the ground floor.
The café is full of daylight and makes an easy place to start the morning; in summer you can take breakfast onto the terrace with the first sun of the day.
Breakfast times:
Mon–Fri 6:30 – 10:00
Sat & Sun 7:00 – 11:00
€15.00 per person – added to your stay
Breakfast comes to €15.00 per person, added to your stay; pilgrims with a credential pay €10.00 – more on our page for pilgrims. The tables are laid from 6:30, from 7:00 at weekends: early enough for the first train, long enough for a second coffee. It is served for house guests only.
What is on it: fresh bread and pastries, cheeses and cold cuts, eggs, vegetarian and vegan options, homemade jams and honey from the region, fruit, yoghurt and cereals, coffee and a choice of teas.
Arriving late or leaving early? The smart fridge in the lobby is open around the clock, with cold drinks and things to eat whenever the café is closed.
Whether you want a light snack, something cold to drink or something sweet, the automated fridge in the lobby is stocked for it.
You open it with a debit or credit card, or with a prepaid card from reception.
Sensors register what you take out, and closing the door completes the purchase. Nothing to scan, nothing to queue for.
We use environmentally friendly packaging and sustainable products wherever we can, to keep our footprint as small as possible.

When the ground was dug for what is now the Trinitatis quarter, the foundations of the old Kibbeltwiete lane came to light. The lane got its name because the plots there were much sought after, and the competition for them turned bad-tempered – in the north, kibbel means to be cross, to grumble, to make your displeasure known. We borrowed the word and gave it a friendlier job: KIBBEL’S KITCHEN.
